ePSIplus Announces Cross Border Meeting - Visegrad Countries

Re-use of Public Information (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovak Republic), 11 February 2009 (Beckov, Slovak Republic)

Meeting Overview

This Thematic meeting follows on from previous work by the ePSIplus Network. During the first two Thematic Meetings focused on the theme of ‘Financial Impact: Pricing - Impact Analysis in the Context of the PSI Directive’, recommendations were made to host an ePSIplus meeting focused on the role of competition authorities. This meeting sets out to do this.

Access the briefing paper on the Financial Impact Theme in which the context for this meeting on Competition Authorities is described.

This meeting plans to consider the role of competition authority’s, audit authority’s and public sector information regulators with respect to raising awareness on the implications of the Directive. For example:

  • The provision of harmonized guidance to the public sector;
  • Public sector branding, kite marks or certification schemes;
  • The development of techniques and good practice that minimize potential complaints;
  • The development of standardized methods of transparency;
  • Fast and effective resolution techniques when the public sector is found not to be complying with the various legal frameworks that are pertinent to the use of public sector information.
