APPSI’s recommendations to progress the re-use of public sector information

The Professor David Rhind CBE, Chair of the UK Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information (APPSI) has written to Michael Wills Minister of information at the UK Ministry of Justices (MoJ) setting out APPSI’s recommendations to progress the re-use of public sector information. The 4 page letter dated 21 July 2008 is accompanied by a 38 page report titled - The impact and success of legislation on the re-use of public sector information (Directive 2003/98/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 17 November 2003 and the UK Regulations) - The views of the UK Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information, dated 21July 2008.
The APPSI report forms the basis of the panel’s response to the European Commissions public consultation on the impact of Directive 2003/98/EC.
