UK Ministers start to respond to Parliamentary questions on PSI

London: 6 October 2008

As the UK Parliament went into summer recess a Member of Parliament asked a range of central government bodies questions about the re-use of public sector information within their organisation. The written questions were scheduled to be answered beginning on Monday 6 October 2008. The first set of answers has been published.

One way of providing feedback on these and subsequent answers from the UK Parliament is to place a comment on the They Work For You portal where all the questions and answers along with a wide range of materials from the UK Parliament may be found.

In the context of the above answers a few minutes browsing the Power of Information Task Force portal and the associated competition provide many examples of what people and organisations would do if they had the opportunity to re-use public sector information. At the current time voting is also open so why not consider the submissions and add your support to up to ten propositions that you believe demonstrate the best of the bunch of ideas on the re-use of Public Sector information. Now I wonder which stakeholders say No one is interested in re-using public sector information!

The UK Guardian Newspaper Free Our Data Campaign is assisting the UK Cabinet Office Power of information Task Force with the promotion and selection of the ideas.
