PRIMET Elects 2009 Board and meets with ECOMET

Amsterdam: 29 September 2008

The Members of the Association of Private Meteorological Services (PRIMET) re-elected the PRIMET Board unopposed at the Annual General Meeting held in Amsterdam on the 29 September 2008. The meeting also approved the proposed legal foundation of PRIMET, the work programme for 2009 and the membership of the PSI Alliance for a further year.

The annual meeting between PRIMET and ECOMET took place on the 30 September 2008 in Amsterdam. Ten ECOMET members and seven PRIMET members attended the meeting. The meeting considered the progress made over the past year. During the meeting PRIMET made further representations on the price and availability of radar data and of certain other data mainly from eastern European sources. ECOMET agreed to take these concerns to their Working Group and thence to their General Assembly.
