MICUS Study 2008: Assessment of the Re-use of Public Sector Information (PSI) in the Geographical information, Meteorological Information and Legal Information Sectors
Report commissioned by the European Commission during 2008 & published 16 December 2008
Extract from Executive Summary
(copied from page 6)
“The study revealed that in all three sectors the markets are growing and that the reuse of PSI has already increased. PSI holders have introduced into their data policy numerous changes which meet the spirit of the Directive. The demand for more PSI in the market is still significant, as re-users of all three sectors declare unabated buying interest. In order to meeting this demand and thereby to support the information economy in Europe, PSI holders should focus on crucial aspects such as licensing and pricing, and provide greater support for the re-use of PSI.”
